What’s Wrong, Arty? is a children’s book whose main character is Arthur, a large brown bear. He is sad and doesn’t want to talk about the way he is feeling. This makes his forest friends worried. They all asked him one by one but Arty wasn’t in the mood to share his worries with anyone. Then comes his wise owl friend, who persuades him to let him talk about his problems so together they can solve them. This therapeutic story encourages children to talk about things that bother them to someone they trust, so they can shed the burden of unwanted thoughts and worries.
Linda Beckett holds an Honours Degree in Psychology and is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society. With her educational background, Linda knows the importance of dealing with mental health issues in children and that’s how What’s Wrong, Arty? was written. Linda Beckett lives in a village near the Hampshire Countryside with her husband Rob and two sons.
