Lilly and Ryan Baker are ten-year old twins, who with their Mum and Dad, live on Rainbow Island, which is a lighthouse island off the coast of North Queensland. Come and spend some time on Rainbow Island and enjoy the beaches and marine animals that they get to play with almost every day.

In the mid to late 1960s Alison Rowell’s family lived on two lighthouse islands off the coast of Queensland, on the Great Barrier Reef, as her Dad was a lighthouse keeper. The Rainbow Island books are loosely based on her memories of these times. Alison currently lives in the leafy northern suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland and spends as much time as she can with her family. Alison can also be seen on the Sunshine Coast where she loves to go swimming at the beach, walking on the white sand and collecting shells.

Amazing writing, great illustrations. Perfect for young classrooms, and children. Wonderful to submerse into the world of young Ryan and Lily on the island. Excited to read any more works of Alisons and further adventures of Ryan and Lily.

Amazing book, great gift idea for Easter coming up, my nieces love this book and I enjoyed reading it to them. The story is fun and easy to follow and the illustrations are beautiful. This would be a great book for any primary school to have.

This is a lovely book that captures the imaginations of both adults and children with what life would be like growing up on an island. Beautifully illustrated and with a layout that is easy reading for adults and children to read together...looking forward to the next edition in this series.
