For some kids the noise, the lights and the hustle and bustle of everyday life can be an impossible battle. You might have a brother or sister who finds the world hard to navigate, or maybe you’ve noticed a classmate that is struggling but they can’t explain why.
Well, this is a story that will help you take a glimpse into their secret world and you may be surprised to find it’s a lot different than yours!
Alison has worked as a nursery nurse and teaching assistant for 28 years. In her spare time, Alison enjoys going to the theatre and cinema and has had a love of reading since childhood. Alison was inspired to write this story after seeing the challenges her nephew was experiencing living with autism. Alison currently works in a school for children with additional needs and hopes this story will help parents, carers, siblings and other children empathise, empower and support neurodiverse children, in our fast-paced, often confusing world.
