Zara, an exceptionally talented girl of seven, lives in a little town inhabited by ordinary people with their quirks, strays, faces who come and go, giving colour to the landscape and sometimes causing havoc. The natives accept them all, no matter how different---gays, snobs, so-called witches and many more. Lore and legends, wits and wags, skeletons and scandals and pets that turn menacing nights, abound. The clear stream is Zara´s and her little friend´s favorite hangout where they spend wonderful weekends and summer days, and where they also have some frightful experiences and where they almost meet their end.The book features the mysterious loss of the Church's precious property, the community´s simple, hilarious social life, Zara´s escapades and the wisecrack of the smart-alecky girl whose sharp observation sees the phony, even the foibles of the Catholic Church. And there are some truths that life is not often fair and that salvation sometimes comes in strange guises.Who´s got the Church treasures? Who´s the villain? Who´s after the mischievous girl and her little friend? Get into the suspenseful narrative and find out how the mystery unwinds.
