After a car accident, a shy young man is left debilitated and to recover in St Richards Hospital, in Chester, England. There, he meets a kind female doctor who is assigned to take care of him. The two of them become very close and share some of their darkest fears and secrets. Everything seems to be going fine until a horrific chain of events leads them to believe a murderer roams the hallways of the hospital. Not knowing whom to trust, everyone is a potential suspect.

Emily Weedon was born in England and moved to Australia when she was four years old. From a young age she was interested in writing and storytelling. She also had anxiety from a young age, which helped her improve her writing skills. Having limited friends her age meant Emily was around adults quite a lot, which counteracted her mature mind and ability to comprehend adult subjects. This gave her the knowledge and skills she needed to write The Thorne Case, which contains adult topics such as mental illnesses.
