Austin Macauley has been working with Children’s Cancer and Leukemia Group (CCLG) and providing them help in different areas. Currently, the independent publisher is conducting different activities to raise funds for CCLG.
CCLG is a charity that works with children suffering from cancer. Their activities have made a real difference in the lives of these children.
Austin Macauley donated books to Kingsmoor Lower School, as part of the school’s ‘Readathon’. 69 children participated in the activity, the purpose of which was to promote the activity of reading and to raise money for the school library.
The money raised, £1865.50, will be used to buy books for the library and enhance it in other ways as well.
Some of the children who participated in the ‘Readathon’ were also chosen as winners of a lucky prize draw. They received books as prizes.
Giving back to the community is a big part of Austin Macauley’s culture. We recently sent collection of ‘Oliver the Owl’ books to Pets As Therapy (PAT) for their Read2Dogs initiative. The books will serve the school children which are part of this initiative.
Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group is a leading cancer charity and is involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer. Over the last 40 years, CCLG has been instrumental in improving the survival rates and standards of care for children. Over 80% of children who are diagnosed with cancer now survive.
Cats and dogs have always been the favourite choice for people regarding pets. The playful behaviour, innocence, the occasional purr, wagging tails and loyalty makes them irresistible.
It hurts to see these pure souls not been taken proper care of and for this reason ‘Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’ has taken an initiative to rescue and rehome, stray and homeless cats and dogs. In operation since 1860, it is one of the UK's oldest and most famous animal rescue centres. The organization is known to take care for over 7000 dogs and cats, every year.
