An ex-IT Consultant, turned livestock farmer and always a keen cook; Jackie has been barbecuing for more than 35 years. In 2004 she became the first and to date only, non-American to win the coveted ‘Grand Champion’ Title at the Jack Daniels Invitational BBQ Competition in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
Jackie now runs a BBQ Cookery School in Kent, she also produces her own range of award winning Rubs and Spice Blends. She has worked with top chefs and complete beginners, introducing them to low and slow cooking over wood. She is one of the early pioneers of bringing American Style BBQ to the UK.
Having brought up her family and professionally running several small businesses, Caroline Letts retired early. She then embarked on another adventure, living abroad in France. She indulged in her love of cookery and animals, running a hobby farm. She loves being creative with the abundance of fresh produce available. Caroline loves to travel and has since explored many of the other beautiful areas in Europe. ‘You should always make the most of everyday and opportunity’ is her mantra.
Janice has always had a passion for cooking. She trained as a home economist and became a highly successful food stylist and creative recipe writer. She has contributed many features to top magazines and created new recipe ideas for worldwide food companies. Her achievements have been recognised by the commissioning of over thirty cookery books.
Janice can create original recipes from a few ingredients not only for taste but also visually, as reflected in this ‘Little Book’ series. This book, on rhubarb, is the last in the series. ‘Wild Garlic’ was published by Austin Macauley in summer 2022, ‘Sloes & Crab Apples’ in winter 2022 and ‘Elderflowers & Berries’ in summer 2023.
