Penelope Baker was born and raised in New Zealand. As a child, Penelope spent her school holidays in Australia with her beloved Nana, a world-renowned author. Her Nana taught her to write her feelings, especially the ones that were hard to say. This got her through hard times as a young adult and again with the loss of her son.
