Hopping up, for his monkey nuts,
Sid the Squirrel, is on our window,
He struts his stuff, taking nuts,
From close up, feeding his furry gut,
With his winter’s stock, keeping him fed,
Sid is our furry friend, right till the end.

Jane Whitehouse writer started to become passionate about writing children’s stories after having her two young sons.
Her home life and home environment just came to her as a natural hobby and came into this story. True, it really happened. Sid the squirrel came to her family home at the window and, amazingly, even took a nut from her son’s hand. This gave her the idea to turn it into a story and what a brilliant story it was...
Looks like a good book.
I be buying it.
excellent my daughter loves wildlife animals especially sid she thinks hes very tame cimbing to the window so close up.My daughters favourite bedtime story now hope jane does more good books like this one thankyou jane whitehouse my daughter sleeps like an angel at night now.
Has helped my young boys overcome their worry of wild animals and has made them appreciate what is out there in our back garden and now they both want to be vets & adopt sid the squirrel
There favourite book & read it most nights & can't wait for further adventures
What a delightful little story,
Jane tells us about a cheeky little squirrel invading a normal urban family garden in search of an easy meal.
She describes how Sid the squirrel charms his way into the family's affections by the use of rhyme & playground type language so appealing to any youngster getting used to the 'big, adult' world of reading.
The irrresistable combination of a small furry animal befriended by a young child in a believable contemporary setting is enough to stimulate any youngster into wanting to read more while also developing a love of our wildlife.
I wholeheartedly recommend this modern literary work for the younger child
