The last year has been a real challenge for many grandparents longing to be able to visit their grandchildren face-to-face. Even more so when the distance was quite great and at least one of those grandparents faced additional challenges of mobility, health or both.

This short heart-warming story is about a grandma who overcomes her accessibility and health challenges so she can travel to meet her grandchildren once again.

My Grandma Has a Magic Car is a grandchild’s view of the magic that makes this journey happen.

It is a tale of magic and feelings. It is about a child’s love for their grandma.

David Berry is a retired teacher who now spends his time with his wife, Janet, and their dog, Maia, at their home in South Yorkshire. Whilst he has written many online learning units over many years, this is his first book. Walking the dog in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and at Bridlington sea front is when he finds his moments of creative inspiration. His grandchildren keep him young.

A book written in rhyme that children will love and want to hear time and again. It addresses the issues of mobility thoughtfully. A lovely addition to a child’s library.

A lovely written story showing some of the issues it takes to visit grandchildren when you are in a wheelchair. The grandchildren enjoyed following the story and talking about the colourful pictures.
My grandma has a magic car is a new book on the shelf but is already a favourite.

A great book in its own right. A lovely story about all the different ways to visit family, which also bridges the gap to discussions around mobility. All through the magical eyes of a child.

This is a beautiful book written by my wonderful brother who is a superb human being, husband, father and grandfather and has a lovely wife who loves her grandchildren so very much. I am certain it will provide much joy to all young children and their parents and grandparents alike.
