  My Shadow And I by Kevin Richardson is a delightful book for young children.
  The tale shows the beautiful bond between a young boy and his dog. We see that they do everything together. They are a partnership. Where the young boy goes, Shadow follows.
  We learn about cooperation and kindness as the boy thinks about what Shadow wants when he is not there.
  It is a simple story making it easy for young children to remember it and its message.
  The book is beautifully illustrated. The pictures are simple but with much detail. Each page is a starting point for discussions with our children.
  My favourite illustration is the last one which is a heart shape in the soil with a pawprint and a hand print.
  This is a beautiful addition to any first book collection.

  My Shaddow And I is an adorable, relatable, heartwarming, precious, and fun book based of the author's childhood memories with his first dog! This book is from the perspective of a young boy as Shaddow becomes his best friend and q great source of joy. Shaddow and the boy do absolutely everything together! They play ball, hide and go seek, shaddow enjoys stopping the boy's toy cars with her paw, they go to the park together, sleep together, and are rarely apart. If the boy has to leave Shaddow at home he does everything he can to ensure her comfort and care. The relationship depicted is so sweet! As a life long dog lover who views their her dogs as her babies I could not relate to this story more. It absolutely warms my heart and depicts relationships with dogs beautifully.
