These are the stories of two best friends. Percy is a young black cat and Pilot a bouncy black Labrador. These are heartwarming, amusing stories to curl up with and enjoy.

Who has stolen the Halloween treats and exchanged them for stones?

On a visit to Witch Tree Woods, will they solve the mystery of the woo noise? Can they escape Hogwood the grumpy wild boar?

Will they save the baby owls from the nasty crow Corvus?

At the Oakwood Green village fete they enter the pet talent competition with hilarious results and Pilot steals a hot dog.

On holiday to Fossil Bay, Pilot digs up an enormous bone. What is it?

At Christmas, they get up to mischief and have to help Santa as a consequence.

Kate lives in Surrey with Pilot and enjoys long walks with him where he finds unspeakable things to roll in, and finds the filthiest ponds to swim in. She was a primary school teacher for 33 years and has always enjoyed writing stories and sharing them with children. Percy’s Purr is her first book.

This book written by Kate Hopkins with beautiful illustrations by Susy Dixon-Jones, is a collections of delightful stories of Pilot, a young Black Labrador, and his friend Percy, a young black cat. Children, ages 8 - 11 should be able to read and enjoy the stories, on their own, but it is also a nice book for "story time". Each story is just the right length as a a bedtime story, and tells of the adventures of Pilot and Percy, and their friends. Pilot and Percy have interesting, but "gentle" adventures, and each one ends happily. The colourful illustrations are detailed and interesting. I have enjoyed this book as well, as have several children in my extended family.

Percy and Pilot are such loveable characters! Perfect for children 9-11s independent reading, but excellent for parents to read to their younger kids. I've found the stories most helpful for my work in teaching ESL. They're great for developing A0-B1 vocabulary, grammar, and reading skills. Well written with lovely moral messages to explore, as well as stunningly illustrated. Strongly recommend purchasing this book.

The crazy adventures of Percy & Pilot are so wonderful and heartwarming! I loved it so much I bought a second copy to send back to America for my nephew. We loved all the funny little pickles Percy & Pilot get themselves into and their friendship is adorable. Can’t wait to see what they get up to next ❤️

This is a lovely story about lots of adventures and situations that Pilot & Percy get into. As a dog owner I have some sympathy with Pilot’s antics & with Percy who is trying to be the sensible one. Their characters are well written & the pictures are lovely. I loved the book after reading it before I gave it to my granddaughter, who loved it too.
