The author, Mr Charles John Indongole, is a holder of a Bachelor of Education (Hons) degree from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda; and Master of Arts degree in Education awarded with Distinction by the University of Lancaster, UK. He is also a holder of a presidential Order of the Grand Warrior of the Republic of Kenya (OGW) for distinguished service in Education, Assessment and Evaluation and Honorary Fellowship of the Kenya Institute of Bankers (HFKIB) for distinguished service in Financial Industry in Kenya.


He is an experienced writer who has written and published books in History and Education Measurements. He served as a head of Test Development, Research and Consultancy Services Division in a National Examinations Board in Kenya for 20 years, in which he interacted with a number of examinations boards in Sub-Saharan Africa as an examiner, employee and researcher and later as a Senior Consultant in capacity building in the United Nations Office in Nairobi for 10 years, during which time he served as a Regional Technical advisor in assessment of human abilities in Cognitive, Psychomotor and Affective Domains.
