Welcome to Marrduck, an ordinary-looking garden pond where magic happens. Find out who and what live in and around the pond and the fantastic adventures they have. Travel through their journey with them and discover fabulous interesting facts about things that live above and below the water.

Who is Taddy and what does he do? What do the children do to help the wee beasties and the environment? As you travel on the journey with the children, you will learn fascinating aspects of pond life and the role of each wee beastie.

Tales of Marrduck will inspire children’s imagination and creativity as they read the story and colour in the lovely illustrations. It provides opportunities for initiating conversation around conservation issues both at home and at school.

What can you do to help Taddy and his friends on their quest to save the local environment?

Oh, and which way does your watch go?

Heather was born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, where she worked as a psychiatric nurse until she moved to South West Scotland in 2003. She now lives on a remote smallholding with her five dogs and various other animals and poultry. The idea for this book came from her interest in studying the insects in her garden pond and surrounding wildlife, combined with wanting to help the younger generation learn about the harm that plastic can do and how they can help look after the beautiful planet they live on.

  • Absolutely stunning!

Read this to the kids and they kept wanting more. As they coloured in the pages they kept asking about the creatures, Taddy tadpole etc and it became a real fun discussion topic that they could relate to! They've entered the colouring competition (we found it on Facebook) and can't wait to see if they have won. This is superb value, educational, fun and a great story.
