From Michael Rosenblum, the bestselling author of Happily Ever Always: A Guide to Personal Transformation, Security, Confidence, and Healthy Self, comes a debut book for beginning readers. This ageless story introduces us to a caterpillar named “Fear”. Fear is afraid of everything – the other critters who share the garden, lightning storms, being bullied and making new friends. A chance encounter with a wise butterfly named “Faith” helps Fear find the courage within to experience the world in a bolder and more joy-filled way. Rosenblum’s message for children is simple yet profound: fear is just faith turned inside out.

“Children will realize that changing fear to faith is up to them as they explore this magical story. Bravo, Michael Rosenblum!”

"I bought ""The Caterpillar and the Butterfly"" for a young child and read it before gifting it. It is a delightful recounting of how fear can dominate the way we see and live. Fear, a caterpillar, is befriended by a butterfly named Faith. Faith, a protective person, allows Fear to build his confidence in a worry free way. She introduces him to things that previously he found scary. Fear changes from being sad and scared to being confident and happy.
This inspirational story is perfectly paired with enchanting, bold, vibrant, expressive and colourfully magic illustrations. They have a dramatic and moody feel. Alternating from dark and sad to light and happy as Fear's confidence builds.
This is the sweetest, cuddly book that will entertain children. As in all good children's books the author sees kids as thoughtful people. Many older people should read ""The Caterpillar and the Butterfly"" and benefit from the powerful message of overcoming fear and believing in yourself. Fear to Faith.
""The Caterpillar and the Butterfly is a beautiful and powerful book."

I loved everything about this book from the meaningful lesson it teaches in a language even young children can understand to the vivid illustrations. It's so important today to teach children not to be afraid and to open their hearts and minds to new, different and exciting experiences. And of course there is the beauty of discovering things with a friend. Embracing new experiences helps us learn, mature and metamorphosize from a frightened little caterpillar into an intrepid, beautiful butterfly. You just have to have Faith. Michael Rosenblum has synthesized these lessons into a lovely story book that will appeal to children and to all those who read The Caterpillar and the butterfly to them.

It would be a meaningful gift if Michael Rosenblum’s enchanting The Caterpillar and The Butterfly were characterized as compulsory reading for all children. It is illustrative in a simple and elegant way of life lessons that all children are confronted with and endure both before and after transmogrifying from the base of simple childhood to adulthood. It would be a joy to behold for any adult to have the opportunity and good fortune to read this beautiful and symbolic story to any child or grandchild as the book’s narrative and illustrations are presented in such an enchanting and magical way. Thank you, Michael Rosenblum, for creating The Caterpillar and The Butterfly a book for the generations.

We are a family of book lovers and while I try to utilize the library as much as possible, I am so glad I purchased this book for our family. This book was an instant favorite among my three elementary age children. The story is beautifully written, provides an important life lesson about overcoming fears, and is simple enough for young readers to sit and engaged with the story over and over again. The illustrations are fantastic. The characters are brightly colored and loveable. The illustrations help to facilitate more open ended discussion about fear with young readers. To simply conclude, we love this book and I am so thankful it is part of our ever growing book collection.

A friend involved in a children's reading group told me about this newly released book based on positive messaging and illustrations. The Caterpillar and the Butterfly, from page one, captivates both children and adults. Fear and Faith journey and share in a caring and kind way which relates to everyone. My children wanted the next chapter; they wanted the characters to dance. My girlfriend and mothers from the reading group stated that the illustrated examples depict real life situations which are easily explained and understood. Thank you for putting smiles on my kids faces, especially during COVID. Stuffed animals would be great!!!

Received your books & oh what a joy I have had shaing with my family members. Went to my nephew's & read it to his 2-year old daughter. She was enthralled with the story and the fabulous characters and colors. Her favorite parts were when Fear saw Faith for the first time & then seeing Fear reading books with his new friends. My next stop was to my sister's house. My parents were visiting and my 78-year old mother then read the book to all 7 of us. Thanks for making our hearts happy!

Thrilled to be the first reviewer. I believe firmly in giving books to children as gifts. They can be forever gifts. And they can be so special. This book will join my list of favorite Forever books. It is beautiful to look at and the message is both simple and important. The message is delivered in a way that children will both understand and appreciate it. And it wouldn’t hurt for adults to take it in either…

  • Nadia G

This book is lovely and full of heart. There is a profound message, but it is very gently presented in this sweet story. Children are always facing new things that might cause them to be fearful, and this is a book that you can refer to as an example of how to handle those fearful feelings. I am buying one for every kid in my world — and their parents! Also, it’s a beautiful work of art. The drawings are gorgeous. I’m leaving one out on my coffee table! I highly recommend it.

I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed this book. It is the first book I've reviewed that I thought I need to have for myself! The caterpillar and the butterfly is an adorable story about a scared caterpillar named Fear and an encouraging butterfly named Faith. With faith and her friend's help, they show Fear how to be brave and the results are a beautifully illustrated story. I give this book 5/5 from me!!

The Caterpillar And The Butterfly by Michael Rosenblum is a beautiful story for early readers.

It has a powerful message about not letting fear rule our lives but stepping out in faith and trying new things. The book is perfect to read to young children or for early readers to read themselves. The message will also help children to know they are not alone with their feelings; we all feel that way. With love and encouragement, they too can bloom. The style of writing has a friendly feel to it as the caterpillar is encouraged to live life to the full. I thought the illustrations by Polina Poluektova were beautiful. Each page has so much detail to back up the words and is a good starting point for discussions. The caterpillar and his woodland friends will appeal to young children, as they all have big eyes to draw you in. The Caterpillar And The Butterfly is the perfect addition to any child’s book collection. I think a copy should be in every early year's classroom too. I received a free copy from the publishers. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

Beautiful story with a timeless and important message for all! The gorgeous illustrations brings the author's creativity to life!

  • Brooke Young

The Caterpillar And The Butterfly is a beautiful, empowering, emotional, heartwarming, and gorgeous book! This is one of the most touching children's books I have ever read. This beautiful book is about learning to believe in yourself and turning your fear into faith. This concept is beautifully illustrated not only through the illustrations and storyline but also through the main characters names. Fear the Caterpillar earned his name from his shy timid nature. He is scared of everything and constantly filled with worry until he meets a kind butterfly named Faith. Faith approaches fear with compassion and understanding. She promises she will not let anything bad happen to him and helps him overcome his fears one by one. Fear expresses his wish to be more like Faith. He is surprised when Faith says it is possible for him to fly someday too. She tells him the key to flying is believing in himself even when he is afraid. While reflecting later that night, Fear realizes he does believe in himself and something magical happens. This books is undoubtedly a must read! It truly touched my heart ❤️
