Dawn Jackson lives on the seafront in Suffolk and has three grown up sons, who no longer live at home. Now working part time, she has found more time to do more of the things she loves, and writing poetry is one of those things.
Her love for poetry writing began at high school, where her English teacher named her ‘his little poetess’. She has entered, and won, a few poetry competitions over the years, and shared her poetry with friends and family, but now wants to spend more of her free time writing.

Ive read it and loved it (although im not in the target age range). Loved the non-formulaic structure too, so it’s not like every other children’s book while still keeping all of the best qualities of fun, rhyme and a great narrative.
We purchased this beautifully illustrated book for our granddaughter as a Christmas Present. She is now old enough to read books like this, all on her own and she loved it. The story line was strong enough to hold her and the poetic language made it easy to read.
This is a wonderfully nostalgic work of brilliance that reminded me of stories and poems I was read when I was younger and I loved it! The vibrancy and whimsy of the story is enough to make anyone smile, and the hard work and imagination of the author really shone through and made it all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend :)
