A fantastic book that is very much designed to grab children's attention and engage them. The clever use of rhyme and bold illustrations are perfect. This book is great for adults also - it prompted me to reflect on if I was still curious about the world around me too!

This text would be a great stimulus in different learning areas in an EYFS setting. It encourages children to observe, explore, initiate ideas, problem solve and persevere. Each skill is presented with colourful graphics and rhyming language – a great simple but effective book.

This is a lovely book with a great message to kids to be curious. It teaches children that curiosity is a good thing and can carry them to new heights and do amazing things. It can leave a child filled with wonder. The illustrations and text of this book are excellent. It’s not difficult to read and is appropriate for all ages. I read it to my son, and he loved it.

We opened this book and the first thing we saw was the iconic quote from Alice in Wonderland "Curiouser and curiouser" and we were immediately hooked!! Being curious and inquisitive about the world is such a wonderful thing and children most of all should have the freedom to be naturally curious. The bright bold colours and illustrations complement the text - which is clear and concise, ideal for a younger audience. I have a very curious little missy at home and this book was very much well received! She loves to ask "WHY" countless times a day so I knew she'd love this read!

Curiosity is the first steps which leads to creative learning, motivation, and success. I liked the way you takes simple rhythmic text to express your ideas. And I really like the message behind the book that all the people who achieves success and their life goals to date has first look into and find out their own curiosity. Beautiful illustration ✨️
    Best wishes for the future.

"When you are curious, you observe the signs, you see the world anew." The book does not only inspire the readers and strengthens the vision of how fun it is to be curious but also encourages and invites us to share our own experiences.
What is it like to be curious? What is your learning journey? A great provocation to reflect on being curious.

  • Rebecca Bushby

  • Lucy Durance PYP Teacher and Literacy Coordinator at Agora Lledó International School, Spain

"When you are Curious" is ideal for PYP students who are learning about inquiry, or in fact, any child who wants to dive down the rabbit hole and into the world of curiosity, just like Alice in Wonderland."

Intriguing, insightful and thought provoking. The simple writing of the story draws you in and, although it is simple, the language truly makes you think. This book is truly wonderful. It makes me as an adult think carefully about what I am teaching my children (both my own children and the children who I teach).
The words and the pictures work seamlessly together to engage the child (and adult) in thoughtful fancies of what life could be if you were more like Alice. It is a simply wonderful book that I would recommend to any parent.

  • thekidsbookstagrammer

This inspiring book encourages children to explore their imagination and curiosity. It consists of a beautiful poem that aims to make children ‘curiouser and curiouser’, as mentioned in one of the first pages, a quote from Alice in Wonderland.
This rhyming poem with a lot of musicality - it’s a great read aloud - goes through the advantages of being curious, mentioning all the places we can go, the mazes we can solve, the new traces we leave. It’s a very positive message as curiosity is definitely what or the personality features we all expect our children to show. The artwork perfectly complements the message in the book, with bright vibrant tones that easily capture children’s attention.

  • Mark Harrington

This beautiful book, has small curiosities on each page which open up discussion and educate children at all levels. Simply written to support early readers but enough images and word to open the dialogue. A must for any classroom and children’s book shelf.

Children are born curious - that's how they learn. This book taps into that innate curiosity to encourage its readers to think more deeply about the world around them.
So what do we mean by curious? Is it looking into space? Is it learning to ride a bike? Is it playing a musical instrument? Or something else? Of course it's all of these - after all, these are all things we've had to learn how to do!
Curiosity means you are observe. You think. You see. You explore. You solve. It sparks a fire inside you. It means you're human!
When you are curious is great for encouraging discussion. It does this by using one idea per page, accompanied by a bright and inviting picture. Rather than being told what to think, readers are invited to question and explore. We really enjoyed it!

  • Nina Mroue

This is such a great book encouraging young readers to be curious with such an important message. My daughters absolutely loved the book! It is well written and thought out with wonderful rhymes easy for children to read and understand. I would definitely recommend!

  • Michelle

Although there aren't many words to this book, the words that there are really encourage and promote conversation, leading young readers to consider what they are curious about, and what can be achieved when you show curiosity about the world around you.

The bold illustrations also encourage discussion, with images of activities and professions, and a fun maze midway through the book.

All in all, this was a thought provoking read, and my daughter and I enjoyed talking about what was shown in the illustrations, and what we are curious about in our day to day lives.

  • PJ

When You Are Curious is a brilliantly simple yet captivating book which can inspire young readers to dream about all of the possibilities life can offer!

Each page gives wonderful suggestions of career choices, and opportunities all around us to learn and discover more, if we remain curious.

The illustrations offer lots to look at and discuss, perhaps in areas children won’t be aware of.

There are opportunities to discuss space, travel, science, learning, and plenty more!

A lovely book for curious little minds!

With vibrant pictures and a simple, yet deep message, this is a book you can read again and again, always finding something new to talk about with the kids you're reading it to. Highlighting the importance of always asking questions, and always encouraging wonder in our children, this book not only gets kids asking questions, but shows them how far the pursuit of answers can take them. The author's desire to "change the world one book at a time" and help children not only see the simplistic beauty of life but investigate it for themselves, shines through on every page. This is an excellent children's book!

A truly delightful book for children. It displays in both words and pictures the importance of curiosity in the world around them. Moreover, it does so through an entertaining approach rather than an instructional one. The pictures in the book are enjoyable and expressive, but at the same time further encourage the imagination of the child. Additionally, the approach of the book is innovative in that it provides a clip on each of the benefits of curiosity thus enticing the child to look for the following clip. A remarkable book that I would highly recommend for your children.
