Author of One Chance Enjoyed Her Successful Book Launching Event
Mary Finnerty-Morris enjoyed the success of her book-launching event in Galway. The event was attended by about one hundred people. Local well-known author and historian Willie Henry was present at the event. The event was inaugurated by the TD in Dáil Éireann, Catherine Connolly. Catherine praised Mary’s writing skills and compared her writing skills as to that of James Joyce’s, which was an honour for Mary. People kept her busy by asking her to sign the copies of One Chance until she ran out of copies to sign!
One Chance is an excellently executed story about a girl named June. The novel is highly engaging and takes the reader directly in the days and nights of June. The protagonist is a young girl who was abandoned by her mother from a very young age. Raised by her delightful grandmother, June lives a shielded life. June’s mother, later on, tries to contact her, but June’s grandmother keeps her oblivious. She has a grudge against June’s mother for abandoning the child. Life goes on for June with her everyday ups and downs. June meets a boy by the sea named Matt and suddenly her life is filled with joy, only to be separated by him later on. One Chance provides its readers with questions about June like why didn’t she take up the opportunity when it presented itself? And what was the reason that held her back? A must read for novel aficionados.
