Naheed Kausar Featured in a Newspaper for Her Debut Book

Author Naheed Kausar was recently featured in a newspaper article for her newly published book, The Price of My Daughter’s Shoes. The article highlights Naheed’s journey from being a long-time charity shop volunteer to becoming a published author. Originally from Pakistan and now living in Great Harwood, she has been volunteering at Age UK for the past 25 years. Her inspiration for the book came from a conversation with her daughter about the value of shoes, which led her to reflect on deeper themes of kindness, resilience, and the struggles of everyday life.

The Price of My Daughter’s Shoes is a collection of standalone short stories that explore the challenges faced by Ruby, a mother raising three daughters while navigating financial and emotional hardships. The stories focus on her eldest daughter, Aliza, who dreams of becoming a doctor but struggles with an irresistible obsession with shoes. Through moments of hope, sacrifice, and compassion, the book reminds readers of the power of kindness in overcoming adversity.

Naheed Kausar has been passionate about writing since her teenage years, with her first article published when she was young. Over the years, she has contributed to The Daily Jung (Pakistan), Women’s Own, My Weekly, and Best Magazine. Now, her first book has been published and is available on Amazon, WH Smith, and Waterstones.
