Shamim Khan unboxed the publication material of her book, Under the Shade of the Mango Tree. The event befittingly named “Mango party” was attended by close family members to show support for her upcoming release.

Under the Shade of the Mango Tree is a contemporary novel following the inter-connected lives of four characters who are all in search of something more. It sheds light on the under-represented stories of Asian characters and aims to motivate a new demographic of readers.

Shamim Khan was born and raised in Lancashire. She found a passion for reading at a very young age, thanks to her sister, who handed down many of her books. She graduated from Edge Hill University with a bachelors in English Literature and Language. Now, she is a mother of three boys, and her passion of reading has evolved into writing her own works of art.
