‘Why the World is Speaking English - A Sideways Look’ is an interesting read about growing use of English, controversies, education or communications, competitive advantages, and cost benefits.
‘Leaving the Armed Forces and Getting a Job’ is a self-help book for ex-servicemen, highlighting the errors which hinder their employment in civilian life and offers the solutions to improve their chances of landing a job.
Michael Sykes calls Hampshire his home and he has served in Royal Navy. He has extensively travelled around Europe and Asia for business. He opened a translation agency and a language school with his wife Cathy in Croatia and then Slovenia. He has been interviewed by BBC, spoken at conferences about privatisation, English, piracy and has published articles in papers and journals.
