The Federation of B.C. Writers featured the launching ceremony of the book by Don Hunter titled as Meg Tyson – Screen Lass. The launching of the book went successful and the event was attended by many people. The author was delighted by the encouraging response from the audience.



In the time of 1862, Meg Tyson, hailing from Morthwaite, a small village in Cumbria in the northwest of England, is a screen lass by profession. Her duty is to separate the coal from the wastes of metal and stone. Coaster Pit, a coal mine is the home for people of Morthwaite. Meg who has accepted her fate as a screen lass meets an unforeseen encounter with the youngest son of landlord and the owner of the Coaster Pit. He sets her off to Vancouver Island in Canada, where she rebuilds and lives her life in the ways she had never imagined.



Living in the village of Fort Langley, BC, Don Hunter is married with two daughters and have three grandchildren. He has served as a news reporter, feature writer and senior columnist in Vancouver Province Daily newspaper. He has four books on his credit. He took the training of teaching at Chester after completing his national service with 23 Parachute Field Ambulance at Royal Army Medical Corps. He was a secondary school teacher in England and BC. He got his B.Ed. degree from the University of BC.
