David John McAllister spent three years in Bulgaria. He travelled from there to tour Romania. The author has also visited a number of other countries in Eastern Europe, having long been interested in that part of the world.
Mr. McAllister has a daughter and two granddaughters. He currently lives with his partner in Cumbria.
