Spiwe Mhondiwa
Spiwe Mhondiwa is the visionary founder of Severn Angels Housing & Support (SAHS). With a deep commitment to community support, social justice, and the dignity of marginalised individuals, Spiwe has become a leading figure in empowering vulnerable women to rebuild their lives.
Spiwe’s journey into social work and community advocacy began with a profound recognition of the challenges faced by women in crisis. Her passion for helping others is shaped by her personal experiences, including overcoming domestic abuse and homelessness. Despite facing significant trauma and mental health struggles, Spiwe’s determination led her to pursue a degree in Nursing, qualify as a Registered Nurse, and become a successful entrepreneur. Despite being dyslexic, she worked tirelessly to overcome her challenges, demonstrating that hard work, patience, and personal responsibility are key to recovery and success. Her journey is a testament to her belief that, regardless of one’s past, with a strong “why” and a willingness to take full responsibility, anything is possible.
At the core of Spiwe’s work is her belief in the power of holistic support. She understands that true empowerment comes from addressing the full spectrum of a person’s needs—physical, emotional, and social. Spiwe is committed to expanding her impact, ensuring that more women have access to life-changing support and are well-informed.
