Guy Newmountain
Guy Newmountain, a unique eccentric who defies categorisation, is a practising artist/illustrator, retired animator and occasional DJ. Most notably, however, he is a former teacher who worked in 130 different schools across the entire age-range; with a breadth of experience rare in the profession. Creator of children’s fairytale The Man with the Eye at the End of His Finger, a short film meticulously hand-coloured pixel-by-pixel over a 27-year period and winner of multiple international awards, he is a guilty cola drinker with a fascination for contemporary fonts, TV title sequences, pioneering music videos and retro sci-fi. Parent to a wilfully muleheaded and mischievous black Labrador, he swims a mile each weekday, but never fails to visit the chip shop on a Friday night.
Guy’s previous book, "Please I Can to the Toilet Go?" (The Memoirs of a Supply Teacher), was published by Austin Macauley in March 2023.
