Miranda Summers
Miranda Summers lives in North Hertfordshire, UK and has worked as a piano and music teacher since the early 1990s. In 2016, she decided to leave her school-teaching job and work solely from home, so she branched into freelance editing to complement her private teaching.
On completion of her editing training and seeking her first ‘real’ job, Miranda was thrilled but terrified to be offered a manuscript from a publisher of fiction. After nervously returning the edited novel, she was promptly offered another, and then another. Consequently, she spent the next few years picking apart countless novels and by some kind of osmosis, found that she had developed her own ability to write. She practised her skills by starting a blog and writing articles for it as well as other projects, Aftershock being one of them. Unsurprisingly, as the youngest of three siblings and a busy working mother of four, much of her subject matter relates to mental health and family dynamics – the good, the bad, the ugly and, of course, the hilarious.
Miranda is also a keen runner and can be spotted most mornings with her little running buddy, Buster-The-Border-Terrier, out in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside.
